In this ceremony, we will gather together with Jenn Bierma, intuitive cacao practitioner, to share space with the spirit of mama cacao and sip in her medicine. Sacred chocolate has been used for centuries by ancestors around the world to honor connection, heart centeredness and the journey to, and through, the sacred realms. As we gather, everyone will be invited to draw in the heart opening medicine of cacao. Jenn will pour everyone a cup (naturally sweetened and seasoned to your liking!) and then lead us on a meditative journey. Bring a journal to capture your thoughts and emotions as well as a sweatshirt or blanket if you are prone to be chilly. Everything else will be provided. Every Ceremony is different and may use a variety of modalities of healing. Some of these modalities include; sound healing, shamanic journeying, light language, traditional meditation and art.
Are you new to cacao? Please contact us for more information on the benefits, what to expect and some medical awareness on ceremonial grade cacao. Life is a journey that can be completed in many ways. On this day, let us choose to journey by way of the heart centered path.
**You can choose to add a 1 pound brick of ceremonial grade cacao to take home. This is an option and not required for you to participate in the ceremony. Jenn supplies a cup of cacao to each participant for the ceremony. Registration is highly recommended. Space and cacao are limited. Cacao Ceremonies are 60-90 minute in length dependent on number of participants and the level of sharing.
Wayne Manthey, a well-known drummaker out of Minnesota, will be making the trip down to Oklahoma to guide us as we create our own personal deer hide drums. To anyone who has seen Wayne’s work, or taken a class with him, his drums have their own unique design that is easy to spot amongst other drums. His humor, knowledge, patience and stories create a build-your-own drum workshop that leaves participants feeling an amazing sense of community with each other and the natural world as well as an absolute sense of gratitude for the gorgeous hand-crafted drum they can now call their own.
In this retreat workshop, participants will join Jenn Bierma, owner of ReJenneration Wellness and Wayne for an overnight retreat dedicated to drum making, sound and healing. The mini and Extended retreat include lodging, meals, healing ceremonies and time for self-reflection as you sit by the beauty of Lake Eufaula.
In the 4 hour Saturday drum making workshop, participants choose their drum frame and hide, cut the hide for the drum, hand stain it in black walnut stain, lace and tighten their drum and affix the drum handle. (Participants have the option to bring stones or other charms top place inside their drum handle- Not included in the workshop cost.) The frames are pre-constructed for the participants and hide lacing will be pre-cut as well. Part of the process is to reflect and connect with the drums, the hide and the process itself. Wayne’s greatest joy is seeing the faces of the participants when they finish their drums.
